Securities Week 13-17/12/2021: VN-Index can't accelerate yet

 VN-Index ended the week at 1,479.79 points, up 16.25 points.



The trading volume showed a strong improvement compared to the previous week but that positivity was overwhelmed by strong net selling of foreign investors on HOSE and HNX.


In the short term, VN-Index is likely to move sideways and is unlikely to have a strong breakout.


I. VIETNAM STOCK MARKET WEEK 13-17/12/2021

Trading: In the last session of the week, VN-Index increased by 0.22% to end at 1,479.79 points; HNX-Index fell 0.18%, down to 456.20 points. Considering the whole week, both indexes gained quite positively, VN-Index increased by 1.11% and HNX-Index was 1.21%.





The average matching volume on HOSE was more than 909 million shares/session, up 20.06% compared to the previous trading week. The HNX averaged nearly 117 million shares/session, up 5.11%.

Most of the VN-Index's gain in the past week came in the first session of the week (December 13, 2021), when the index increased by more than 13 points. 

Although it started the week with great enthusiasm, in a week with little supportive information, at the same time as the Fed's decision to slow down the asset buying process and the plan to raise interest rates for 2022, could not bring Vietnam to -Index approached the historical peak around 1,500 points.


 In the following sessions, VN-Index had almost no significant changes. In these 4 sessions, VN-Index can only expand to more than 3 more points. At the end of the week, there was a time when VN-Index increased by nearly 10 points. But the strong shaking in ATC session shortened almost all previous gains of VN-Index. For the whole week, VN-Index only increased by 16.25 points to 1,479.79 points.
