Leather materials used for car seats can be genuine leather or imitation leather, but in general, it is difficult to avoid stains during use. Here are 4 quick and simple steps to clean leather car seats that you can do at home.
Step 1: Check skin surface condition
Check the leather surface of the seat cover before cleaning to see if it is punctured, torn or not. If so, cover the hole or tear to prevent water and detergent from getting into the seat. Chairs that are soaked with water and detergents will easily cause odors and mold from the inside, which is difficult to handle.
Step 2: Vacuum away dirt
Use a mini vacuum cleaner to suck up all the dirt on the chair, especially in the seat slot area. Work gently so as not to scratch the surface of the skin.
Step 3: Clean with specialized detergent
- Wipe off dust, white mold remaining on the surface of the chair with a soft cloth.
- Use a specialized cleaner to spray on the surface of the chair and then use another towel to wipe each part. If the leather seats have a vent design, do not spray directly on the surface, but put the detergent on a towel and wipe it evenly.
