Vietnam's economy 2022: Opportunities in challenges

Looking back at the overview of Vietnam's economy in 2021 and prospects for 2022, the domestic and foreign economic situation in recent months continues to have rapid, complicated and unpredictable developments...

However, the economy also showed positive signs.

Therefore, the ability to follow an extensive program of economic recovery and development requires a time frame of at least 2023. Because, in addition to removing difficulties and creating impetus in the short term, the program This process needs to ensure macroeconomic stability and lay the foundation for stronger economic institutional reform in the next 3-5 years.

Identify difficulties

In the coming time, the Vietnamese economy will face many difficulties and serious consequences from the COVID-19 epidemic.

Externally, export markets use technical measures to limit imported goods, including Vietnamese goods. On the other hand, the risk of supply chain disruption is significantly increasing costs for exporters as well as domestic commercial enterprises.

In addition, despite many efforts to improve, the management and quality of policy documents to support people and businesses are still limited and inadequate. Meanwhile, epidemic prevention in some localities has not been properly and synchronously implemented with relevant processes and measures to minimize negative impacts on goods circulation between localities.

Solutions to support businesses such as tax extension, tax postponement, debt repayment term rescheduling, interest and fee exemption and reduction... are not yet "weight" necessary to support businesses. Some regulations on supporting workers and employers facing difficulties due to the epidemic have encountered problems when put into practice. support or expand the object of support.

Moreover, many new fields are mentioned to create impetus for economic growth, such as digital economy, circular economy, but in fact, official information and data serve for policy assessment in Vietnam. There is still a lot of shortage in these areas.

Regarding Vietnam's economic prospects in 2022, in my opinion, some factors can affect as follows:

First, is the ability to control the epidemic. Therefore, if Vietnam implements fast and effective disease control, promotes vaccination in association with an appropriate economic opening roadmap, with the active cooperation of businesses and people, the consequences for economy, especially economic centers will be reduced.
